Director, Writer, Creative Producer

Originally from Avignon, Stéphane Barbato directed his first short film, Play The Game. For the music, he wrote to Ennio Morricone: “Maestro, I made a film because of you, now we need to make the music.” Amused by the letter and later charmed by the film, Morricone invited Barbato to Rome and offered him an original score, composed and recorded there in 2004. The film, which won numerous awards at international festivals, initially launched his career as a commercial director, working on major campaigns for important causes (Red Cross, Road Safety, etc.) and creative, visually rich comedies, directing over 60 commercials worldwide.

He is currently writing and directing a feature film and series.

Simultaneously, he is collaborating with Netflix as the artistic director for the series Nero, featuring Pio Marmaï (set to be released in 2025).
